Śrī Veṅkaṭeśa Suprabhātam STOTRAM VERSE 8

सुमुखं सुहृदं सुलभं सुखदं स्वसुजं च सुकायममोघशरम् ।
अपहाय रघूद्वहमन्यमहं न कथञ्चन कञ्चन जातु भजे ॥ ८ ॥

sumukhaṃ suhṛdaṃ sulabhaṃ sukhadaṃ svasujaṃ ca sukāyamamoghaśaram |
apahāya raghūdvahamanyamahaṃ na kathañcana kañcana jātu bhaje || 8 ||

SYNONYMS

sumukham: The One with a pleasing face | suhṛdam: The good-hearted friend | sulabham: The easily attainable One | sukhadam: The bestower of happiness | svasujam ca: And born with His brothers | sukāyam: Having a beautiful body | amogha-śaram: Whose arrows are unfailing | apahāya: Having abandoned/left aside | raghūdvaham: The descendant of Raghu (Rāma) | anyam aham: I, anyone else | na kathañcana kañcana jātu bhaje: I never worship anyone else in any way |

TRANSLATION

Oh Veṅkaṭeśa! You are Śrī Rāmāvatāran. As Rāmacandra, the crest jewel of Raghu Kulam, You have the most beautiful face and body, compassionate heart and are easily accessible. You are known for Your unfailing arrows. You incarnated with your brothers as the sons of Daśaratha and have the power to grant the boon of Mokṣam to those who sought refuge in you. With all of your ananta kalyāṇa guṇams in mind, adiyēn will never seek anyone other than you for my salvation.

PURPORT

In the fifth śloka, the composer of this stotram saluted TiruVeṅkaṭamuḍaiyān as Kṛṣṇa and in the ślokas from 6 to 8 he visualized the Lord of Tirumala as the Vīra Rāghavan, Sundara Rāman and Jānakī Rāmaṇan. In the concluding three ślokas (9-11), the composer reverts to the adulation of the Lord of Tirumala as Śrī Veṅkaṭeśan.
