Śrī Veṅkaṭeśa Suprabhātam STOTRAM VERSE 7
अवनीतनयाकमनीयकरं रजनीकरचारुमुखाम्बुरुहम् ।
रजनीचरराजतमो मिहिरं महनीयमहं रघुराममये ॥ ७ ॥
avanītanayākamanīyakaraṃ rajanīkaracārumukhāmburuham |
rajanīcararājatamo mihiraṃ mahanīyamahaṃ raghurāmamaye || 7 ||
SYNONYMS
avanī-tanayā-kamanīya-karam: Him whose hands are lovingly held by the daughter of the Earth (Sītā) | rajanī-kara-cāru-mukha-amburuham: Him whose charming lotus-face is like the moon (rajanīkara) | rajanī-cara-rāja-tamaḥ mihiram: Him who is the sun to the darkness of the king of night-wanderers (Rāvaṇa) | mahanīyam aham: I, the venerable one (or, I worship the venerable one) | raghurāmam aye: I approach Raghurāma for refuge |
TRANSLATION
adiyēn performs Śaraṇāgati to Raghurāma, whose hands are held with affection by Sītā Pirāṭṭi. He has the most beautiful face reminding one of a well blossomed, lotus flower. He is the valorous One, who is like the Sun to the darkness of the unrighteous Rāvaṇa. adiyēn seeks refuge in Him.
PURPORT
This passage reminds one of the thirty-fourth sargam of Sundara Kāṇḍam of Śrī Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇam, where Hanumān describes to Sītā in Aśoka Vanam the beauty, valour and the other auspicious qualities of Lord Rāmacandran: rūpavān Subhagaḥ Śrīmān Kandharpa iva Mūrtimān, Vikramēṇa upapannaśca yathā Viṣṇurmahāyaśāḥ
