Śrī Viṣṇu Sahasranāma DHYĀNAM VERSE 21
अमृतां शूद्भवो बीजं शक्तिर् देवकिनन्दन:
त्रिसामा हृदयं तस्य शान्त्यर्थे विनियोज्यते
amṛtāṃ śūdbhavo bījaṃ śaktir devakinandana:
trisāmā hṛdayaṃ tasya śāntyarthe viniyojyate
SYNONYMS
amṛta-aṃśu-udbhavaḥ: He who arose from the nectar-rayed one (the moon, i.e., born in the lunar dynasty) | bījam: the seed | śaktiḥ: the power | devakī-nandanaḥ: the son of Devakī | tri-sāmā: He who is praised by the three Sāma hymns | hṛdayam: the heart | tasya: its | śānti-arthe: for the purpose of peace | viniyojyate: is employed |
TRANSLATION
The seed is He-who-was-born-in-the-lunar-race; Its power is The Name, The-son-of-Devakī. The heart is the One-who-is-lauded-by-the-three-Sama-hymns, The purpose of its use is the attainment of peace.
