PURPORT
This śloka is from Ādi Kavi Vālmīki's Śrīmad Rāmāyaṇam. During the journey with sage Viśvāmitra, both Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa had rested for the night on the banks of the Gaṅgā river. As the dawn was about to break, Sage Viśvāmitra endearingly awakens the brothers to perform Sandhyāvandanam. The affectionate address of Rāma as “Kausalyā Suprajā" reminds one of Kulaśekara Āḻvār's pāśura vākyaṃ: “mannu pukaḻ Kausalai tann maṇi vayiṛu vāyttavanē” (The one born of the gem-like womb of the famed Kausalyā).
