Śrī Veṅkaṭeśa Maṅgalāśāsanam

Śrī Veṅkaṭeśa Maṅgalāśāsanam is a highly revered Sanskrit hymn composed by Śrī Prativādi Bhayaṅkaram Aṇṇan. It is sung as an auspicious benediction (maṅgalam) to Lord Veṅkaṭeśvara of Tirumala, celebrating His divine form, attributes, and His eternal consort, Goddess Lakṣmī.

लक्ष्मी सविभ्रमालोक सुभ्रू विभ्रम चक्षुषे ।
चक्षुषे सर्वलोकानां वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ २ ॥

May auspiciousness be unto Lord Veṅkaṭeśvara, whose eyes closely follow the playful and graceful movements of Goddess Lakṣmī's beautiful eyebrows, and who serves as the guiding vision (eye) for all the worlds.

श्रीवेङ्कटाद्रि शृङ्गाग्र मङ्गलाभरणाङ्घ्रये ।
मङ्गलानां निवासाय श्रीनिवासाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ३ ॥

सर्वावयव सौन्दर्य सम्पदा सर्वचेतसाम् ।
सदा सम्मोहनायास्तु वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ४ ॥

sarvāvayava saundarya sampadā sarvacetasām
sadā sammohanāyāstu veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 4

नित्याय निरवद्याय सत्यानन्द चिदात्मने ।
सर्वान्तरात्मने श्रीमद्वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ५ ॥

nityāya niravadyāya satyānanda cidātmane
sarvāntarātmane śrīmad-veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 5

स्वत स्सर्वविदे सर्व शक्तये सर्वशेषिणे ।
सुलभाय सुशीलाय वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ६ ॥

sulabhāya suśīlāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 6

परस्मै ब्रह्मणे पूर्णकामाय परमात्मने ।
प्रयुञ्जे परतत्त्वाय वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ७ ॥

prayuñje paratattvāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 7

I offer auspicious benedictions (maṅgalam) unto Lord Veṅkaṭeśvara, who is the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Soul, the ultimate Highest Reality, and whose every desire is eternally fulfilled.

आकालतत्त्व मश्रान्त मात्मना मनुपश्यताम् ।
अतृप्त्यमृत रूपाय वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ८ ॥

atṛptyamṛta rūpāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 8

प्रायः स्वचरणौ पुंसां शरण्यत्वेन पाणिना ।
कृपयाऽऽदिशते श्रीमद्वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ९ ॥

दयाऽमृत तरङ्गिण्या स्तरङ्गैरिव शीतलैः ।
अपाङ्गै स्सिञ्चते विश्वं वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ १० ॥

dayā'mṛta taraṅgiṇyā staraṅgairiva śītalaiḥ
apāṅgai ssiñcate viśvaṃ veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 10

May auspiciousness be unto Lord Veṅkaṭeśvara, who bathes the entire universe with His cool, compassionate side-glances, which resemble the soothing waves of a flowing river of immortal nectar.

स्रग्भूषाम्बर हेतीनां सुषमाऽऽवहमूर्तये ।
सर्वार्ति शमनायास्तु वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ११ ॥

srag-bhūṣāmbara hetīnāṃ suṣamā''vahamūrtaye
sarvārti śamanāyāstu veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 11

May auspiciousness be unto Lord Veṅkaṭeśvara, whose supremely beautiful divine form confers radiance and splendor even to the garlands, ornaments, garments, and weapons He wears, and who destroys all the afflictions of His devotees.

श्रीवैकुण्ठ विरक्ताय स्वामि पुष्करिणीतटे ।
रमया रममाणाय वेङ्कटेशाय मङ्गलम् ॥ १२ ॥

ramayā ramamāṇāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam 12

May auspiciousness be unto Lord Veṅkaṭeśvara, who playfully detached Himself from the Supreme Abode of Śrī Vaikuṇṭha, choosing instead to reside and delight with Goddess Lakṣmī on the sacred banks of the Svāmi Puṣkariṇī lake.

श्रीमत्सुन्दरजा मातृमुनि मानसवासिने ।
सर्वलोक निवासाय श्रीनिवासाय मङ्गलम् ॥ १३ ॥

śrīmat-sundarajā mātṛmuni mānasavāsine
sarvaloka nivāsāya śrīnivāsāya maṅgalam 13

May auspiciousness be unto Lord Śrīnivāsa, who is the ultimate shelter for all the worlds, and who joyfully dwells within the glorious heart and mind of Sage Sundara Jāmātṛ Muni (Śrī Maṇavāḷa Māmunigaḷ).

मङ्गला शासनपरैर्मदाचार्य पुरोगमैः ।
सर्वैश्च पूर्वैराचार्यैः सत्कृतायास्तु मङ्गलम् ॥ १४ ॥

maṅgalā śāsanaparair-madācārya purogamaiḥ
sarvaiśca pūrvairācāryaiḥ satkṛtāyāstu maṅgalam 14
