Śrī Mahālakṣmī Aṣṭakam

Śrī Mahālakṣmī Aṣṭakam is an eight-verse hymn from the Uttara Khaṇḍa of the Padma Purāṇa, traditionally spoken by Indra in praise of Śrī Mahālakṣmī, the divine Mother and inseparable consort of Śrīman Nārāyaṇa. The hymn worships Her as the supreme divine power, honored by the devas, bearing the conch, discus, and mace, and bestowing wisdom, well-being, accomplishment, liberation, and freedom from sorrow and sin. This complete recension also includes three traditional phalaśruti verses, which describe the blessings associated with its faithful daily recitation.
